Materials

Steel

Metal alloy whose main chemical element is iron, and whose carbon content does not exceed 2%.
Product

Bearing needle

A bearing needle is a circular metal pin whose diameter tolerance is very precise, i.e. less than 10 microns. The material used for its manufacture is a high-carbon steel identical to that used for bearings. This steel is heat-treated to optimize its hardness.
Functions

Alignment

Action aimed at aligning or positioning a component in relation to one or more others. Several methods can be used for this alignment operation, such as precision pins or splined pins. The use of spacers makes it possible to use the inside diameter for the passage of a screw, and also to achieve weight savings.

Product

Sockets

A bushing, synonymous with a spacer, is a rigid cylindrical part that can have 3 functions. The first is to join two others and keep them at a fixed distance apart. The second is to center or align 2 components, in which case the outer diameter of the spacer must be very precise, to the order of ten microns. Finally, the third function, known as compression spacer, is designed to reinforce a component, usually of lesser strength than the spacer, i.e. plastic. In the second and third functions, the spacer is hollow, i.e. a screw passes through its inside diameter, which may also be the case for the first function.
Methods

EI

Process

Eco design

Eco-design involves integrating environmental protection into the design of a mechanical part. Its aim is to reduce the environmental impact of products throughout their life cycle.
Product

Product

Spacer

A spacer is a rigid cylindrical part that can have 3 functions. The first is to join two others and keep them at a fixed distance apart. The second is to center or align 2 components, in which case the spacer's outside diameter must be very precise, to the order of ten microns. Finally, the third function, known as compression spacer, is designed to reinforce a component, usually of lesser strength than the spacer, i.e. plastic. In the second and third functions, the spacer is hollow, i.e. a screw passes through its inside diameter, which can also be the case for the first function.

Ground pin

The ground pin is a circular metal pin whose diameter tolerance is very precise, i.e. less than 10 microns. This precision is achieved by a secondary grinding operation. This precision will enable the rectified pin to fit perfectly into the housing(s) in which it will be engaged. This precision of a few microns on the diameter can also be used for very precise positioning.
Product

Pin

A pin is a metal cylinder designed to be subjected to shear stresses that can be either high or low. The permanence of the connection is due to the adhesion between the pin and the assembled parts.
Product

Cotter pin

The machined pin is a circular metal pin produced by removing chips from its diameter and ends. This machining operation makes it possible to obtain holes, grooves and other shapes on this cylindrical pin.
Product

Elastic pin

The elastic pin is obtained by bending a strip of metal into a horseshoe-shaped cylindrical pin. A heat treatment is applied to obtain the pin's elasticity.
Product

Plain pin

Smooth pins are part of the pin family and have no knurled or grooved parts.
Product

Spiral pin

The spiral pin is obtained by bending a strip of metal into a cylindrical spiral or snail-shaped pin, usually formed from 2 all 1/4. A heat treatment is applied to obtain the pin's elasticity.
Product

Grooved pins

The splined pin is an "elastic" pin, with 3 grooves at 120°. These grooves, whose diameter is greater than the housing in which the pin is mounted, will close to apply radial tension. This optimizes and secures the pin's hold in its housing(s). Different types of splines are available according to an ISO standard. Depending on the requirements, the definition of the splines must be adapted.
Product

Cylindrical pins

The cylindrical pin is a circular metal pin whose diameter tolerance is often precise in order to fit perfectly into the housing(s) in which it will be engaged.
Product

Drive pins

The drive pin connects two moving parts. For example, a pulley on a motor shaft, to drive or activate a belt.
Product

Knurled pins

The knurled pin is a "rigid" pin thanks to the knurling obtained by upsetting the material. Although the knurling is larger than the housing in which the pin will be inserted, it will become embedded in the material.
Product

Balancing pins

In addition to connecting 2 or more components, the balancing pin balances the assembly.
Functions
