Threaded threaded sockets are fasteners designed with an internal tap and an external thread. They allow the assembly and fixing of plastic parts with a high resistance to tearing. In addition, they can be screwed and unscrewed unlimited. These parts can also be overmolded.

Co-Design and Development

In close collaboration with the engineers of the LGC design office, you will define the specifications, technical requirements and constraints of the project.

      The threaded threaded socket: assembly and fixing in one piece

      Les threaded threaded sockets are essential elements to ensure a solid and durable fixation of your parts. Thanks to their cylindrical design with an internal tap and an external thread, they offer excellent pull-out resistance.

      You can screw and unscrew them at will, which makes it much easier to assemble and disassemble your assemblies.

      How is an LGC threaded threaded socket made?

      From the material to the threaded threaded socket

      The beginning of the threaded socket manufacturing process is similar to that of threaded inserts and self-tapping sockets.

      The first step is to thread the raw material spool outside.

      This stage is called rolling because the socket is passed between 3 rollers and the rolling system cold deforms the part by compressing it in order to create the thread.

      Cold deformation has the advantage of strengthening the elastic resistance of the material.

      Thus, a threaded socket tapped in a rolled material will have better pull-out resistance than a rolled material.

      The second step is to cut the raw material tube in a suitable machine. The tube is cut to the desired length.

      It is possible to add chamfers or finishes to the material.

      Then, the part goes through a grinding stage.

      A roller presses the parts against a grinding wheel rotating at high speed.

      It is thanks to the abrasion of the grinding wheel that the diameter of the part is modified to reach tolerances of a few microns (~5-6 μm).

      Finally, make way for tapping! That is to say the internal thread of the bushing.

      To do this, a rotating tap will pass inside the part to give it the appropriate thread.

      What are the advantages of a threaded threaded socket?
